I have a body of work that emerged as I sought to reconnect with a love of art-making while processing the death of my spouse.

This loss profoundly shifted my perspective on life—and with it, my approach to making art. Bronze, once central to my practice for its millennia-long durability, began to feel disconnected from my present reality, one defined by fleeting moments and a sense of urgency.

In response, I began creating works that retain bronze's longevity but interact within the specific time and space of the viewer. Some sculptures incorporate silk that moves as viewers pass by; others include shifting inner light. Certain bronzes engage the present through interchangeable poems that future viewers can alternate, alter or add to. Both 2D and 3D pieces invite audience participation, allowing the viewer to become part of the narrative.
