Years ago, James began exploring hanging bronze sculptures as a way to transform what seemed to be a heavy relic of the past, stationary bronze sculpture, as a way to enliven the material for a modern age. The sense of lightness they convey is energized by the fact that they are heavy bronze sculptures floating in space.

They were fun to make and to find discerning homes for.

Though mostly sold out, a few copies are still available. Commissioning new hanging sculpture is, of course, always a possibility.
